SUMMARY:Creative Arts Explorations | Choreographic Ground
DESCRIPTION:CHOREOGRAPHIC GROUND\nA three-week workshop series on Choreographic processes. \nDates: 22nd May – 8th June\, 2025 \nTime: 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM \nVenue: Mool \nREGISTER \nWith this 3-week workshop series\, we invite you to step into the mind of a choreographer and the body of a performer. Dance training often centers around technique\, but this workshop seeks to expand beyond that—to explore performance as an act of listening\, responding\, and creating in real-time. \nDrawing from my experience as both performer and choreographer\, I see the performing body not just as skilled\, but as sensitive and perceptive. Technique becomes a tool—one that supports\, refines\, or re-creates an experience—but it is the embodied presence that brings performance to life. \nThrough somatic practices\, sensory explorations\, text\, sound\, light\, live composition tasks\, writing\, and discussion\, we will embark on a creative process rooted in a central inquiry proposed by the facilitator—an inquiry that is also the foundation of their ongoing performance work. \nChoreographic Ground aims to reveal diverse approaches to making\, foster dialogue between dancers and choreographers\, and open up space for collaboration and shared discovery. \n__________\nMAKING & BECOMING\nFacilitator: Abhinaya Penneswaran \nDates: 22nd May – 25th May\, 2025 \nTime: 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM \nThis workshop explores the journey of transforming a classical Bharatanatyam piece into contemporary movement vocabularies through the work Life in Waiting. Participants will explore how emotive embodiment and intuitive composition can emerge through improvisation and memory. \nThemes Covered: \n\nEmotive embodiment\nImprovised movement composition\nTranslating memory and waiting into movement\n\n\nWho is it for? \nMovement and theatre practitioners looking to explore new methods of performance-making\, or newcomers curious to engage with choreographic processes in an intuitive way. \nAbout the Facilitator: \nAbhinaya is a dancer\, choreographer\, and educator based in New Delhi. She teaches at Ashoka University and works across Contemporary Dance\, Bharatanatyam\, Yoga\, and Somatic practices. \n__________\nTHE ALCHEMY OF MAKING: ANGDAAI SERIES\nFacilitator: Vaishnavi Mannava \nDates: 29th May – 1st June\, 2025 \nTime: 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM \nAn intimate exploration of Vaishnavi’s Angdaai practice\, this workshop offers tools to turn feeling into form through interdisciplinary collaboration and embodied research. Participants will move through phases of self-discovery\, ideation\, co-creation\, and refinement. \nWorkshop Structure: \n\nDay 1: The First Stretch – Reconnecting with the body’s natural intelligence\nDay 2: Sensing the Invisible – Giving shape to feeling through visual and spatial methods\nDay 3: Entangling with Others – Building collaborative choreography\nDay 4: Repetition & Refinement – Finding rhythm\, resonance\, and performance logic\n\nWho is it for? \nArtists\, facilitators\, and curious makers looking for embodied\, interdisciplinary approaches to creative process and collaboration. \nAbout the Facilitator: \nVaishnavi is a multi-disciplinary movement practitioner whose work is grounded in Bharatanatyam\, contemporary dance\, somatics\, and psychological inquiry. \n__________\nUNFOLDING THE HERO\nFacilitators: Akanksha Kumari & Jasmine Yadav \nDates: 5th June – 8th June\, 2025 \nTime: 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM \nThis workshop dives into personal and cultural notions of heroism—through movement\, imagination\, and embodied memory. Participants will investigate how quiet strength\, vulnerability\, and transformation can be embodied in movement. \nThemes Covered: \n\nPersonal stories of power and resilience\nPhysicalizing the archetype of the ‘hero’\nMovement as a tool of playful discovery and empowerment\n\nWho is it for? \nOpen to all (15+)\, especially those seeking to discover courage and strength within their own body. No prior dance experience needed—just curiosity and openness. \nAbout the Facilitators: \nAkanksha Kumari is a dancer\, teacher\, and writer based in Delhi\, whose work challenges social stereotypes through movement. \nJasmine Yadav is a choreographer and performer interested in transformation\, care\, and the uncensored body. She is a PECDA 2024 awardee and a member of Khuli Khirkee. \nParticipation Details\n\nNo prior dance training required\, unless specified.\nParticipants are encouraged to attend all days of the workshop they register for.\nOpen to movers\, performers\, theatre practitioners\, facilitators\, interdisciplinary artists\, and the movement-curious.\nLanguage of facilitation: English (with openness to multilingual sharing\, especially in discussion).\n\nREGISTER

SUMMARY:W.I.P Labs x Algorave India | 7th Orbit: Generative Generation
DESCRIPTION:7th ORBIT: GENERATIVE GENERATION\nAn Algorave Anniversary Performance by Algorave India Community \nDate: 11th May\, 2025 \nTime: 7:30 PM \nVenue: Mool \nREGISTER \nAbout Algorave and Algorave India\nAlgorave India is turning 7\, and we’re marking the moment with 7th Orbit: Generative Generation — a special night of live-coded sound and visuals on May 11 at Mool. This celebration is presented in collaboration with W.I.P Labs\, an alternative art organisation based in New Delhi that supports experimental and interdisciplinary art practices. \nSince 2018\, Algorave India has been creating a space for artists\, coders\, musicians\, and designers to come together and explore the creative potential of live coding. Drawing from a global movement where code becomes performance\, we’ve been building a vibrant community that blends art and technology in unexpected ways. \nFor this 7th anniversary edition\, we’re bringing together 10 audio-visual artists for an evening of generative noise\, visuals\, and collective energy. Come celebrate with us! \nArtist Lineup\n\nAasma Tulika is going to mix some PureData patches with recorded samples from the city and some groovy beats to dance to.\nKaushal Sapre hacked his old keyboard and managed to rewire its electronics to create some really old school bit-tunes with PureData.\nDine Fining will turn patterns and cycles into grooves and noisy tunes with TidalCycles.\nDecoy Dhruv\, a visual poetic wizard\, is planning to make his visuals dance to the audience using Touchdesigner.\nrnd.exe is going to be trying his hand at livecoding in punctual. He doesn’t know anything about how to make music but will try to make weird and funky visuals.\nImerohi learnt how to code last month. Now\, he’s a live-coder you might wanna keep an eye and ear out for.\nShaakar questions live-coding and intends to use the atmosphere of the space to determine his visuals and responses.\nbeatnyk’s work is a constant battle to not crash his live-coding system while creating noisy mayhem in an attempt to code earworming rhythms.\nTig3rbabu will be performing and live-coding in Sonic pi some electro-pop versions of classic tunes along with some originals from the vault.\nKhoparzi will bring in his usual improvised generative visuals tickled by chaotic algorithms meddling with signals and systems\n\nREGISTER

SUMMARY:WIP Sharing | Matthew Rahaim x Bariya | 14th January 2024
DESCRIPTION:Matthew Rahaim and Bariya (Ambient Electronic Deep Listening)\n(A Polyphonic and Polymodal listening of the city) \nPolymodal Delhi – By Matthew Rahaim \nChanneling Delhi’s sedimented history as a meeting ground of musical worlds\, the modulatory techniques of maqām take us fluidly through a series of rāga-s. We dwell in the dynamic umapped zones between modal structure\, finding spaces of poetry among the ruins of grammar. \nThe Delhi Polyphones – Bariya \nAn ambient set dissolving millions of polyphones emerging out of the city creating Delhi’s aural auroras! Electronically reading\, playing\, synthesizing from the paraphonic and polyphonic stays and hums of the city. The last imprints of the city’s contribution to the spheres of sounds looming\, gently surrounding it. \nABOUT THE ARTISTS: \nMatthew Rahaim is a composer\, improviser\, and vocalist\, grounded in the Gwalior lineage of Hindustani music. His work includes analog synthesis\, voice\, raga music\, event scores\, and electroacoustic compositions for new instruments. Recent compositions have been featured at the Wakpa Triennial\, Drone Not Drones\, and The Great Beyond festival. His current project\, Improvising Relationality\, experiments with ways of being both together and apart\, in empathic intimacy and vulnerable alterity\, exploring the relational play of mutual dependence and mutual freedom. \nBariya (Pratyush Pushkar & Riya Raagini) is an Indian Transdisciplinary Artist duo currently working on a deep polyphonic and fearless listening with more than a decade-long musical and sonic grounding\, disorienting (poetic) navigations and stays through everyday sonic reconciliations- uncovering constant queer bioacoustic-poetics that surround us.\nTheir works have found spaces at Akademie Schloss Solitude\, Germany\, Thyssen Bornemisza National Museum\, Madrid\, Audioblast Festival\, France\, Radhiophrenia\, Centre for Contemporary Arts\, Glasgow\,  Festival Sur Aural\, Bolivia and Festival Ars Electronica\, Linz\, Austria among others. Their larger project ” The Delhi Polyphones” has been funded and supported by 421 Arts Centre\, Abu Dhabi and curated by Sara Safwan (Curator- Guggenheim\, Abu Dhabi). \n  \nDate:\, January 14\, 2024 (Sunday)\nTiming:  6:30 PM\nVenue: Lilanoor Centre for Voice and Music \n70% of your contributions goes to the Artist.

DESCRIPTION:Parekh & Singh are a duo from Calcutta. Nischay Parekh sings\, and plays guitar and keyboards; Jivraj Singh plays drums\, percussion and electronics. Both enjoy computation of various kinds. \nTheir third full length album is entitled “The Night is Clear“. The duo had this to say about the new work: “This album is a mirror to our souls.
