Night at the Opera, a W.I.P. production, is a musical journey through time. The performance embarks one on a captivating exploration of western music’s history, spanning from the Renaissance to the Romantic era. Vaibhavi and Pranay present a curated selection of compositions that takes one through the distinct worlds of sacred music, classical masterpieces, enchanting operas and the timeless allure of the Baroque period; paying homage to each. The artists provide insightful commentary on the composition, its story, and its cultural context.
Night at the Opera unravels poetic tales and experiences hidden within the melodies sung in Italian, German, and Latin. A performance that leaves one enchanted in the story of music’s evolution.
Vaibhavi and Pranay will perform a selection of art songs, arias and sacred music originally composed for orchestral or piano accompaniment with their own renditions and transcriptions adapted for guitar and voice, breathing new life into the beloved and timeless masterpieces of the classical world. From Renaissance and Baroque music to Opera Classics the recital will feature a wide range of styles and periods to bring forth the intimate and expressive nature of the human voice and guitar.

Guitars
Pranay Verma is a guitarist and composer from Delhi, India. He works with artists/bands like The Revisit Project, Dastaan LIVE, Pragnya Wakhlu, Aronjoy Das, among many others. He also plays in a jazz/neo-soul setup called Wet Volumes started alongside saxophonist Agneya Singh. He is driven by a vision of empowering and empathising with people through his music, and his debut release ‘Voices’ encapsulates that vision. He joined the Parikrama School of Music in 2015, where he learned under the late Sonam Sherpa. He finished his grades from Trinity with distinction and was the North India Topper in 2016. He recently graduated with an artist diploma from Global Music Institute.
Vocalist
A bright talent in the realm of Western classical singing in India, Vaibhavi Singh is a Lyric Soprano with a rare vocal gift, characterized by a rich, exquisite, and expressive tone. Currently a student at the Conservatoire de Perpignan in France, she has been awarded a prestigious scholarship by the French government since October 2023. Trained at renowned institutions like the St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia and the KM Music Conservatory, Vaibhavi is dedicated to introducing Indian audiences to the intricacies of Western classical music. Her performances as a soloist with The Neemrana Music Foundation have captivated audiences, with standout roles such as Cinderella in the French operetta 'Cendrillon'.
